It’s an exciting time at KIPP Endeavor Academy as we enter our fourth school year and reach our full capacity of grades five through eight.  When fully-enrolled, we will serve nearly 350 low-income and minority students from the Kansas City urban core.  We will be giving each of our students the tools necessary to climb the mountain to, and through, college.

The greatest challenge we face in achieving our mission is the “gap” in public funding we receive from the state and federal government and our per-pupil needs.  As a public school, KEA receives state and federal support.  But, as a charter school, we do not receive funding for our facilities, which accounts for a large portion of our annual operating budget.  In addition, our extraordinary programming requires us to fund expenditures not normally incurred in traditional public schools:  extra time spent by faculty in the classroom each day, on Saturdays, and in the summer, as well as our enriching field lessons.  The resulting difference between per pupil state and federal funding and our budgetary need is our “gap,” which requires us to raise funds from the community.

We hope you’ll consider helping us close that gap by joining our growing family of funders.  Your support will directly benefit our KIPPsters.  You’ll be helping to empower Kansas City’s underserved students with the education they need for a brighter future.  You’ll be helping to ensure that no child’s destiny will be defined by geography.
