We support students in choosing and preparing for the educational and career paths that align with their goals and aspirations. Through KIPP Forward, we help students navigate high school, college, and career decisions so they can pursue a choice-filled life.
The KIPP Forward Difference
Starting in junior year, KIPP Forward counselors provide guidance on course selection, college entrance exams (ACT/SAT), FAFSA and scholarship applications, and college or career planning. Students receive personalized support to explore their interests and find the right fit for their future.
Even after high school, KIPP KC advisors continue to support alumni, helping them overcome academic, social, and financial challenges in college or their chosen career path. While a college degree remains the clearest path to opportunity, we also help students explore credentialing programs and career pathways that align with their goals. Through academic and extracurricular programs, we expand students’ knowledge of career options and provide the resources they need to succeed.

Miss India is responsible for leading and managing the region’s KIPP Forward department. She also develops strategic partnerships with organizations that can help prepare alumni for success in high school, college, corporate, and entrepreneurial environments. She has been with KIPP KC since 2015.
Jessica Gomes

Jessica is excited to return to the KIPP Forward team for her 5th school year to continue to support our high school seniors and currently enrolled students in any and all capacities!
Nick Johnson
Real World Learning Program Manager Nick Johnson
Nick is responsible for ensuring all KLHS students graduate with at least one Market Value Asset such as college credit, work experience, industry-recognized credentials, and/or an entrepreneurial endeavor.
Resources
Starting in 11th grade, KIPP KC students focus on college and career readiness, building the skills needed for their next steps. They receive support in resume building, ACT/SAT preparation, college essay writing, and data-driven college research. Students also complete college applications, scholarship submissions, and FAFSA applications to ensure they have access to the best-fit opportunities for their future.
